Plans, Thoughts, Etc. Oh I have a lot of ideas for Kris. A lot of horrible, terrible ideas. Since a lot of characters are probably going to be human or human-adjacent, they're going to be pretty weirded out for one thing. At least there's magic. Deltarune does more fourth wall breaking stuff than Undertale did and while it would be funny to have "the player" literally be me, I think it would be better to have the player be some third party so I have an opening to have the player and Kris swap places in-game. I'm not sure if this could be considered spoilery but Kris' wish is definitely related to feeling a lack of control in their own life. They'll be reacting BADLY to anyone with enchantment magic, holy moly. House River and House Stone for them, probably.

Character: Turing
Canon: 2064: Read Only Memories
Plans, Thoughts, Etc. I have fewer ideas for Turing but the idea of robots using magic was too good to pass up. They will feel very conflicted over their wish, but that's too spoilery to just say here! I also want to play with the idea of what a robot's dreams might be like and how that would be weird for other people to experience. House Life and House River, maybe?

Character: Nie Huaisang
Canon: Mo Dao Zu Shi
Plans, Thoughts, Etc. Huaisang is an ancient Chinese wizard who seems like a useless dandy and anxious hot mess on the surface but in reality, has a lot of hidden depths. His true personality is a bit of a walking spoiler so you can read a bit more about him here. CW for animal cruelty, exploitation of mental illness, murder, manipulation.

I really love dreamshare/memory share stuff and Huaisang has a lot of secrets and mistrust built up with him that I would love to explore in themed dreamscapes. In his world, he's a politician and sect leader who appears incompetent on the surface while masking a highly clever, devious, and capable mind. I really love playing him in worldbuilding scenarios. As for his wish, I feel like he wouldn't know what his personal desire is aside from murdering a certain someone or bringing his brother back but like... he's been a bit of a broken record for ten years and not allowed himself to think about anything else. An arc with him getting back in touch with himself outside his mission and figuring out what he really wants and feels while putting his leadership talents to use could be fun.

As far as magic goes, I'm interested in Huaisang learning divination, enchantment, and illusion spells though weather magic and water magic could be interesting for him to learn, too. I have a lot of ideas tbh. So definitely want to toss him toward House River and House Sun for sure. He'd especially vibe with House River, I think, given his leadership background.

Plans, Thoughts, Etc. Cherry is a very technically inclined person and because of this, he'll want to try to recreate Carla (The AI he created) in the world. He'll also be very interested in the people they are seeding the planet for and their technology. If it can further his technical knowledge he'll be interested.

I really want to pull him out of his comfort zone. He's a very insular and technical person so I'd really like to get him to have people he can care about. (In the series there are literally only five people he has any interest in and one of them he resents bitterly) I also want to throw him at magic without making it easy for him. He would definitely fit in house sun.

I’m not sure which of the following two characters I might bring in (and they both already have magic, so I’m not too concerned about that), so here are my considerations:

Character: Alfyn Greengrass
Canon: Octopath Traveler
Plans, Thoughts, Etc.: A sturdy, rough-looking youngster with an axe, Alfyn looks like he’d be great at clearing roads and building houses. And he might not do too poorly at it, but actually, he’s closer to a pharmacist than a lumberjack. As a fantasy-world apothecary, Alfyn is pretty well-versed in plant lore and human health and would jump at the chance to help out a whole planet of people in a pinch. He’s already overly friendly by nature, so the dream- and memory-sharing would just get him nose-deep in everyone’s business that much faster. Anyhow, Alfyn’s just a good guy who’s easy to play and get CR with.

Character: Lunafreya Nox Fleuret
Canon: Final Fantasy XV
Plans, Thoughts, Etc.: Tragic priestess/princess figure fridged for her emo boyband gets a second shot at healing and helping people? Sign Luna up! Though of a royal bloodline bearing powerful white magic, Lunafreya lived most of her life bound as a political prisoner and a pawn of prophecy. She has enough unfinished business to power a deus ex machina, and so she’s a stronger contender than Alfyn for answering Serendipity’s call, but she’s not quite as outgoing. Still, her healing, gardening, and propensity for mythology could make her an asset in this world.
