[Helping is both, the whole point of being here, and also absolutely Scott's thing. He always wants to help people, when and wherever possible, regardless of the cost to himself. Anyone that knew him would not be surprised one single bit to find him heading to the greenhouse to help with the sudden infestation issue.
The thing about being a werewolf is... sometimes, animals respond to that. Being an Alpha makes that even more likely, and Scott is hoping that he can use that to his advantage with the rodents.
